That Killamix is a really nice controller, though, and fits well into the monome paradigm: maximal potential usage via the most minimal platform. I've read the review on the Kenton, and I was impressed by how much they've packed into it.

i think for $60 they are totally worth it. ... they could be truly great but they just kind of miss the mark. i'd love it if they'd make a midi only version of the KP3. that would be cool.

yeah, they are super pricey new. i was pretty lucky to find one used for $300 less than analoghaven.com is selling them for.
i thought that the korg nanoKontrol would be just as good... but i was totally wrong.

it has the worst name ever. the controller made by kenton and is called the 'killamix mini'. so far it's really nice. the endless encoders are also buttons (used to change midi channels) and the leds will update the status of whatever you have it assigned to.

samski, thanks. no processing was done to the images. only cropping them square and resizing to fit the blog.

it looks like everything worked with the restore the second time. we'll see when i take a closer look.
